Privacy and personal data
At the Center for Food Security & Public Health at Iowa State University, USA we take your privacy very seriously. In order to provide access to this service, we must collect and store some personal information about you.
Minors
Children under 16 years of age are not permitted to access the services provided by this site. By agreeing to this privacy policy you are also agreeing that you are 16 years of age or older.
What is collected?
Basic profile information is collected from you when you create your account including your full name, email address, school your veterinary degree is from, and the year you received your veterinary degree.
As you use the site, information about the things you do on the site will be recorded. For example the site records quizzes you take, the score you earned, and when you collected your certificate.
How is this information used?
This information is used to allow you access to the use the online courses at NVAPIAT.org. We use this information to verify that you have completed your Initial Accreditation Training.
National Veterinary Accreditation Program (NVAP) staff, NVAP Coordinators, and other USDA APHIS personell will use the certificate records to verify you completed your Initial Accreditaiton Training.
We also use anonymous statistical information about usage of the site in various reports viewed by NVAP Staff and other USDA APHIS personell.
Who controls the data and how do I contact them?
The Center for Food Security & Public Health (CFSPH) at Iowa State University may be contacted at iat@iastate.edu. The CFSPH website is located at: http://www.cfsph.iastat.edu If you do not receive a response in a reasonable time please try our web form or try calling us. Your email may have been filtered as spam.
How long is my data stored?
Because your Initial Accreditation Training does not expire, this data will be kept indefinitely in case future verification that you completed the training is needed.
How do I withdraw my consent for the Center for Food Security & Public Health to store and process my personal data?
If you have previously consented to allow the Center for Food Security & Public Health to store and process your personal data in accordance with this privacy policy, and you wish to withdraw your consent, please send an email to the Center for Food Security & Public Health at iat@iastate.edu. You will no longer be able to access the services provided at NVAPIAT.org if your consent is withdrawn. This means access to all certificates and course completion information will be permanently removed.
How do I request that my personal data be corrected or erased?
You may make corrections to your basic profile information by logging into NVAPIAT.org and editing your own profile. If you have questions, or would like any other data to be corrected or erased, please send an email to the Center for Food Security & Public Health at iat@iastate.edu.
